When my husband, Aaron, and I received our invitation to Vanuatu we were picturing coconut trees and beautiful white sand beaches. We brought a bunch of fishing line and lures with us… and never used them. Our site is in the area known as Middle Bush, located about a 2 ½ hour’s walk from the coast. Was it what we pictured? No, but it is an extraordinary place. The further inland you go, the stronger customs and traditional lifestyles seem to get.
